BRAND NEW - Truckampers are built to last At Truckamper we have strived to make the most compact and toughest camper in the world without compromising comfort. We started with an impossible list of everything we wanted our vehicle to do and designed it around this So here's what we wanted: - To be able to drive the camper around the world in comfort, carrying spares, fuel, water, food, recovery kit etc. - To carry at least 4 passengers - To sleep at least 2 people - To be totally self contained, so that if you got lost in a desert, you could live happily for at least a week. - To use the vehicle everyday whilst at home on the farm - To go offroading for a day, get stuck, make a cup of tea and get out again - To tow a trailer up to 3 tons across the country and have a cold beer and a rest when we get there - To carry a boat on the roof, but still be able to use the bed - To be able to travel at 70mph and still achieve at least 25mpg - To be able to fit it into a standard height 20' shipping container - To last for at least 20 years, possibly forever - To cost less than £10 thousand pounds After a lot of research, we discovered that clearly this vehicle didn't already exist and having laughed at how ridiculous a challenge this sounded, we grabbed an envelope and a Biro and started sketching. We decided that the only option to fulfil all of our criteria, was to use a double cab pick-up as a base. There are so many comfortable, reliable and good value models out there, that we wanted people to be able to select whichever one suited them the best. If we were to use a demountable camper design, it also meant that the truck could also be used as an everyday all purpose vehicle. The Truckamper was born. - With a welded aluminium frame and an aluminium shell, it's built to last - The most compact demountable camper in the world, sitting well inside the vehicles original footprint and still allowing you to close the tail gate - Fully demountable on almost any double cab pick-up, so that you only need one vehicle for work and play - Fully insulated to cope with any adventurers destination whether it's Siberia or even Scotland! - Low profile pop top roof, only protruding 8 inches above the original height of the pick-up roof bars - Features – Two burner gas hob, sink and running water with on board water supply, 3 way fridge, full size 6” thickness double bed for absolute comfort, table and seating for two, 12v electrical system, solar charger and battery and plenty of storage - Carry up to 100kg on the roof, whether it's spare tyres, a boat, skis or a surf board - Tow a trailer up to 3500kg (depending on vehicle), whether its a horse box to a show or aid to Africa, you've got the freedom - Why not add some accessories to fit in with your lifestyle.
